Welcome to your Too Old to Grow Up! Video Game Preview.  This week we'll be looking at Activision's Monsters vs. Aliens, based on the DreamWorks movie of the same name.

Rated E+10, Monsters vs. Aliens falls in with similar family movie video game adaptations such as Shrek 3, Finding Nemo and last year's Kung Fu Panda.  If you've seen the movie trailers, you'll quickly recognize characters and locations from the movie, and get a chance to use their various abilities.

The difficulty ramps up as you play each character.  B.O.B., or as he's sometimes called, “The Talking Sneeze,”  is a self aware blob who can eat his way through everything.  And if that’s not enough, how about sticking to walls or using what he eats to shoot down enemy aircraft.

Ginormica, “HEY! Once and for all, the name is Susan.  I am NOT a monster!  Sorry, Susan, is a giant “using cars for roller skates” kinda gal who can push her way through the toughest robots.  Be prepared to skate, jump, and grind your way through a pretty basic on rails skate park of disaster, ending in a “press the right button combo” boss battle that's becoming all too common in games these days.

Finally, The Missing Link is an acrobatic fish-ape whose tail of destruction gets him through the attacking aliens with ease.  Jumping puzzles are king here, but move quick or it's back to the beginning for you.A nice addition, but not playable in the demo, is the ability for a second player to jump in at anytime as Dr. Cockroach, Ph.D.The standard platforming gameplay probably won't do much to entertain most gamers out there, but parents and kids will have a blast saving the world together.  Check out Monsters vs. Aliens on your favorite game system on March 24th and the movie in theaters on March 27th.

For Too Old to Grow Up!, this is Logan MacLeod.  Because you haven't grown up yet, why start now.
