Oh man, yesterday was a blur. For as long and tiring a day it was, it was also a really fun day.
We got to the center right around 10am, opening time, only to be greeted by the massive line to get in. So like cattle we moved through the corralled walkway funneling us onto the convention center floor. By now it's almost 11am (yes, almost an hour) so I decide to go right to the Marvel panel. Guess where they are. Outside the convention floor.
I didn't have to stand in line just to go to a panel. Ugh.
Ok, no harm no foul. So I sit through the Make mine Marvel panel, which was good but I think I would have preferred the DC/Mattel panel instead. So it's off to the DC Countdown to Crisis panel (I recorded both and will include clips in the show if the audio came out well). Of course not much was said about plot points, but according to Geoff Johns, lots of people will fight.
I missed the Indy/Star Wars event in the theater because it was just too crowded. My partner Mike got in rather stealthy and has brief report. Short version - Indy Good!
I met Umar from Dafixer's Hideout at Podcast Arena. He's a really big fan of the show, and thank you for the compliments. It's always good to know that we're not just doing this for ourselves. Thank you.
I did finally get to meet Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Sciver, two I absolutely had to meet and thank. With Green Lantern: Rebirth those two got me hooked into DC and comics in general. They both signed my Sinestro Corps War bound book, and both were impressed by it. Thank you to them for the great books over the years.
Last night we went to the podcast meet up at John's Pizzeria in Times Square. Good pizza and better company. The place is in a converted church, from the outside it's like any other building. Inside is very cool, a mix of modern and older architecture. Pics are in the gallery if you're interested. I sat with Tony (MobileHome) and NewMutant (I'm sorry, I missed your first name) from the forums. We had some great conversation.
We're off in an hour or so, more interviews and the we're headed home. See you at the con if you're going, if not on the boards later.
